Most Anticipated Romance Books of 2021

We’re diving right in today because I’m so excited to share my most anticipated romance books of 2021!

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

Coming March 2021

Goodreads Summary:

In Act Your Age, Eve Brown the flightiest Brown sister crashes into the life of an uptight B&B owner and has him falling hard—literally.

Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong—so she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It’s time for Eve to grow up and prove herself—even though she’s not entirely sure how…

Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car—supposedly by accident. Yeah, right.

Now his arm is broken, his B&B is understaffed, and the dangerously unpredictable Eve is fluttering around, trying to help. Before long, she’s infiltrated his work, his kitchen—and his spare bedroom. Jacob hates everything about it. Or rather, he should. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore—and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior.

I’ve written about my love for Get a Life, Chloe Brown and Take a Hint, Dani Brown. I am not shy about how much I love the Brown Sisters. I can’t wait to spend a whole book with Eve!

This sunshine / grump, chaos / control freak book is going to be so delicious I can hardly wait!

Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas (The Ravenels, #7)

Coming July 2021

Goodreads Summary:

New York Times bestseller Lisa Kleypas returns with an enthralling and steaming romance between a widowed lady and a Scot on the run—who may have connections to one of London’s most noble families.

“The devil never tries to make people do the wrong thing by scaring them. He does it by tempting them.”

Lady Merritt Sterling, a strong-willed young widow who’s running her late husband’s shipping company, knows London society is dying to catch her in a scandal. So far, she’s been too smart to provide them with one. But then she meets Keir MacRae, a rough-and-rugged Scottish whisky distiller, and all her sensible plans vanish like smoke. They couldn’t be more different, but their attraction is powerful, raw and irresistible.

From the moment Keir MacRae arrives in London, he has two goals. One: don’t fall in love with the dazzling Lady Merritt Sterling. Two: avoid being killed.

So far, neither of those is going well.

Keir doesn’t know why someone wants him dead until fate reveals his secret connection to one of England’s most powerful families. His world is thrown into upheaval, and the only one he trusts is Merritt.

Their passion blazes with an intensity Merritt has never known before, making her long for the one thing she can’t have from Keir MacRae: forever. As danger draws closer, she’ll do whatever it takes to save the man she loves… even knowing he might be the devil in disguise.

In my review of Chasing Cassandra I pour my heart out about what it was like saying goodbye to The Ravenel Family. It was a bittersweet, but satisfying send off. I was content and I knew I would be able to re-read my favorite family anytime I wished and I was ready to move on to other books.

Then, suddenly, an announcement!! Not only is it a bonus Ravenel book, there’s a sexy Scot!!??

*all the fan girl squeals*

Witches Get Stitches by Juliette Cross

Coming July 2021

Goodreads Summary:

Violet Savoie has a plan. A dream, rather. To open her own tattoo shop, which caters to supernaturals in need of permanent charms. As a powerful Seer, she has the potent magic to cast every kind of spell. Except the kind to give werewolves control over their beastly side. And her business partner Nico needs help in the worst kind of way.

Nico Cruz has a secret. A motive, rather. To subtly stalk and seduce Violet until she finally recognizes they are fated to be together. Ever since their heated encounter in Austin on New Year’s Eve two years earlier, he’s been dying to get his hands—and his tongue—back on her body. He knows a woman like Violet can’t be courted in the usual way. Luckily, Nico has no scruples about misbehaving to get what he wants.

But when his former pack roams into town, and an old friend is far too interested in Violet, his focus shifts to the threat venturing into his territory. Nico may come across as the quiet, broody one, but the intruders are about to regret stepping foot in New Orleans. And when Violet goes missing, no charm or spell can keep Nico’s wolf at bay.

I’m just obsesses with the Stay a Spell series and when I saw the cover reveal of Witches Get Stitches my hype train for this book when full steam ahead. I love the diverse characters and the fun, fluffy contemporary style with the paranormal flair. Not to mention, the covers of these books are just absolutely gorgeous.

The first two books are available on Kindle Universe and there’s plenty of time to have them both read in preparation for Witches Get Stitches!

Hell’s Belles #1 by Sarah MacLean

Coming August 2021

Update from Goodreads:

In a four-book, high-six-figure deal, Sarah MacLean re-upped with Avon Books. Through the agreement, brokered by Avon’s Carrie Feron and Holly Root at Root Literary, MacLean will pen a series titled Hell’s Belles, about a gang of women in the Victorian era who, the publisher said, are “hell-bent on smashing the patriarchy in all corners of London, from glittering ballrooms to dark alleys.” Book one, which is currently untitled, is set for summer 2021.

We’re already losing our minds in my book club. It’s going to be yet another amazing #SummerofSarahMacLean. I’m so ready!!!

A Dance of Smoke and Steel by Milla Vane

Coming October 2021

Goodreads Summary:

As Anumith the Destroyer’s army draws nearer to the western realms, an alliance is forming to stand against him. The heir to the throne of Krimathe embarks upon a quest for the goddess Vela–a quest that the goddess has promised will give her strength enough to defeat the Destroyer.

All that Laina must do is to stay silent…and serve a man she has sworn to kill. A man who helped destroy her family.

The son of a demon warlord and only recently freed from years of torture, Saxen seeks to make amends to his people before facing the justice of the Krimathean queen’s blade. When a mysterious, silent woman who wears a questing cloak joins his small band of warriors, he only wishes to rid himself of her.

But she isn’t so easy to get rid of–and fulfilling her quest might come at a far higher cost than Laina could imagine. For she might gain the strength to defeat the Destroyer…but what she needs from Saxen will destroy him first.

Milla Vane is a brilliant writer and her series, A Gathering of Dragons, has helped give the fantasy-romance sub-genre, and all the wonderful writers working so hard to blend a love of swords and smooching a well-deserved push into the spotlight.

I’m so looking forward to sharing my thoughts on this series here on the blog and I can’t wait to read more from this wonderful writer.

A Happy Year of Reading

This barely skims the surface of all the wonderful romance we have coming to us in 2021 and it’s going to be so much fun reading and sharing my love of books here this year. Have I included a book you’re excited about on my list? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Better yet, let me know the book you’re most excited for this year!

Happy reading, friends.
